Plant spacing and density

Calculates the number of plants and the effective density of the plot, with aisles and margins deducted.

Log in to open it

Places the planting layout on the plot dimensions or on the outline of a greenhouse saved in Farms. Deducts margins and aisles and calculates plants, effective density, bags or channels and substrate volume.

Planting plan and effective density

Layout on the greenhouse geometry, paired rows on substrate, aisles deducted and net plants.

Features

  • Growing systems: Soil, substrate bags, NFT channels with stacked levels and vertical supports.
  • Plot: Length, width, margins and orientation, or the real outline of a greenhouse saved in Farms.
  • Planting layout: Grid, paired rows, staggered or quincunx, with spacing between plants, rows and pairs.
  • Aisles: Aisles added on the plan, deducting the plants and bags they occupy.
  • Last line adjustment: Inclusion of the last line when it is a few centimetres short and use of the incomplete group at the end.
  • Substrate: Total, effective and commercial bags, volume per bag, litres per plant and volume to buy.
  • Saved settings: Named settings saved in the browser.

Inputs

Plot dimensions or saved greenhouse, margins, orientation and aisles. Spacing between plants and rows, and pattern: grid, paired, staggered or quincunx. Growing system: soil, substrate bags, NFT channels or vertical supports with their levels.

Results

Total plants, plants per hectare and theoretical and effective density. Total area, plantable area and plants or bags lost to aisles. Bags, channels or supports, substrate volume to buy and planting plan.

Calculation conditions

The geometry is the one entered or the one of the saved greenhouse; obstacles are deducted as aisles. Margins are deducted on both sides of the plot. Saved settings stay in the browser where they are created.
