Built to handle data. Lots of data.
The full SIGPAC parcel registry for Almería on the phone. It is indexed once, and from then on every parcel comes up instantly, with or without coverage.
Measured on 2026-09-13.
- 1,158,222
- SIGPAC parcels from Almería in a single file
- 18,531,552
- attribute values in that same table
- 250 ms
- median per search
- 100/100
- searches returning the right parcel
Finding one parcel among 1,158,222
The same official file and the same parcel code in both applications.
All 1,158,222 Almería parcels, fully loaded in the app.
Median of 100 searches spread across the whole file.
71 times faster than QField on every search.
- 186.4 s
- the first time, while it builds the index (QField: 17.3 s)
- 12
- searches are enough to win that time back
- 123.8 MiB
- peak memory (QField: 109.5 MiB)
From one municipality to the whole province
Time to build the index by number of parcels. Grey bars are test layers with the SIGPAC structure; the green one is the official file.
With coverage
Public layers from the official sources, queried from the app.
- 63/63
- public layers responding
- 14 ms
- median per layer
- 287 ms
- for the slowest WMS layer to respond
Result validation
Every calculation is checked automatically against technical references and independent data. The figures cover the whole set, not a selection.
- 37,579
- records checked
- 210
- series evaluated
- 28
- comparison datasets
Validation covers agronomic calculations, agroclimatic series, remote sensing and official coordinate transformations.
Architecture for field work
What lets that volume move on a phone, in the middle of a field.
-
Asynchronous queries
Raster and vector tile identification runs outside the interface thread. The map remains responsive with twenty online layers.
-
Per provider queue
Remote sensing requests have priorities, concurrency limits and cancellation by request or geometry.
-
Size limited cache
The raster cache limits disk use and evicts by last access. Pinned files are retained.
-
Resumable downloads
Downloads use byte ranges, resumption and progressive waits between retries.
-
Immediate GeoPackage writes
New records, edits and confirmations are written to disk, with retries on failure.
-
Rendering suspended in the background
The map stops rendering when the application is not visible and reuses its texture on return.
-
Hybrid climate series
Combines station observations with the agroclimatic API. Gaps in the observed file are completed from the API.
-
Background local index
Reads only search attributes, excludes geometry and stores the index in a local database. Construction can be cancelled.
-
Local calculation
Raster post processing, water balance, phenology and nutrient solution formulation run on the phone.
-
Independent compiled core
The interface uses a declared API. Calculation logic and its tests remain in the compiled core.
The official sources
Mapping, parcels, climate and environment integrated into the application, each with its service and its licence.
The satellite series
Resolution, revisit, access and historical series for each sensor. The application works with Sentinel 2, the one that gives 10 metres every five days with no licence.

The same project, opened on the desktop
What is captured in the field opens afterwards in QGIS desktop without rebuilding layers or converting formats. It is the same project, with its styles, its forms and its reference systems.
Where these figures come from
From walking the source, not from writing them down. The same measurement feeds the comparison with the other field GIS.
